International Ultraviolet Explorer high resolution spectra of HD 45677 were studied to analyze the complex atmospheric structure revealed by visible and infrared observations. The star has a rich spectrum of both emission and absorption lines. The ionic species range from neutral light elements like C, N and O, to Fe2, the dominant atomic spectrum, to superionized atoms like C4, Si4 which appear broad in absorption with composite structures. A tentative interpretation of the Fe2 and N spectra in terms of the Rosseland Theory of cycles, in presence of diluted radiation, is given.
