A comparison is made between the infrared emission from a large Spitzer/IRAC survey (PI: Stolovy) of the Galactic Center and a new Paschen alpha survey (PI: Wang) with HST/NICMOS. The 8 micron diffuse ISM emission is dominated by PAHs in photodissociation regions, whereas the Paschen alpha emission originates in thermal ionized regions of the ISM as well as in the winds from massive stars. Comparison of the 8 micron and Paschen alpha maps reveals information on ionization geometry and locations of massive stars. Candidate compact HII regions identified as slightly resolved in the IRAC data with 2'' resolution are now resolved into complex structures with 0.2'' resolution in Paschen alpha. Obscuring dark clouds observed to display a variety of morphologies, from compact globules to elongated filaments.
