A study is made of the specific relativistic effects of the instability of potential motions that are dependent on a single spatial variable, including motions that are isentropic with respect to vortex perturbations. The general theorem is proved, and estimates and solutions are presented for the limiting cases of individual relativistic factors and in the absence of other nonlinear hydrodynamic effects. It is shown that many of the known solutions for equations of relativistic hydrodynamics equations are unstable with respect to vortical transverse velocity components.
