The trajectories of charged particles in a magnetic-dipole field in the
magnetosphere are determined in the weak-scattering approximation. The
distribution function of the scattered particles is computed, and its
first moments (density and flux) are determined. The results are of
interest in connection with cosmic-ray studies.
