Analysis of the average light curve of RY Sct made by a light curve synthesis method yields the conclusion that RY Sct is a close binary system consisting of a B0 star with mass ≡11 M_sun; filling its Roche lobe and losing mass to the second star ≡O6 V with mass ≡35 M_sun;. This O6 V star is surrounded by a geometrically thick opaque accretion disk. It is very probable that the system RY Sct is the final stage of the transition to the close binary system WR+OB.
