A major goal of observational cosmology is to determine the history of active galactic nucleus (AGN) formation and its relation to the history of star formation. In order to make substantial progress in reaching this goal, we need multiwavelength observations of deep survey fields. Highly spectroscopically complete samples are now available for some of the deepest 20 cm fields. In this proceeding I discuss the properties of the radio sources in the Hubble Deep Field-North and their relation to populations selected at other wavelengths, and I compare the cumulative growth of AGN and stars.
