Exact transformation laws for fields and sources between the frames of reference of an observer and a moving body are developed from a general-relativistic point of view. Approximate solutions for the electric and magnetic fields caused by a uniformly magnetized sphere rotating obliquely in vacuum are obtained systematically in vector form. The potentials and fields in the near zone are derived by using descriptions in a rotating frame and the transformation laws, while the electric field outside the sphere and the electric field due to a nonconducting rotator are determined by extending the interior potential toward the exterior. The electric and magnetic fields in the wave zone are calculated in the same vector notation by means of the dipole approximation. The results are shown to coincide with Deutsch's (1955) fields in both the near and wave zones when the components are written in spherical coordinates.
