The effect of gravity variations occurring during oscillation in stars on the phase and amplitude of the colour curve is investigated. It is found that in most cases the effect is small and not enough to influence the method of mode estimation based on the phase difference between the light and colour curves. The effect on the radius estimation is more serious. Model atmospheres are used to evaluate the corrections necessary in various colour systems.
