The consideration of the effects of evolution on the stellar interior created a need for more accurate models. With the increase in accuracy of tabulated quantities such as the opacity and the decrease in size of the finite steps of integration both in the space of the star and in time, the need for more efficient numerical methods was also established. To this end, a study of the equations of quasi-static equilibrium of completely spherical stars was initiated. The problem is described as a fourth-order, nonlinear, two-point boundary-value problem. A general perturbation expansion and its possible application to real stars are considered. In addition, the role of the Riccati transformation in linear and linearized two-point boundary- value problems is investigated.
