Earth: Expansion, Geomagnetic Field: Motions
Scientific paper
The author considers a new model of the motion of matter in the Earth's outer core based on the hypothesis that it is expanding. He shows that this model can provide a natural explanation for the phenomenon of westward drift of the nondipole component of the geomagnetic field. The author evaluates the current epoch from the standpoint of the relationships of the model.
