The investigation of the chemical and isotopic composition of prototerrestrial and (in general) protoplanetary matter on the basis of meteorite data is examined. Particular reference is made to the origin of SNC meteorites and planetesimals. Support is given to the dualistic hypothesis, according to which the formation of the solar system was connected with the merging of at least two gas-dust nebulae.
