It is argued that a connection exists between the phenomenon of quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) and the formation of Compton-heated accretion disks coronas in galactic bulge X-ray sources. In particular, the frequencies of the QPOs are identified with those of oscillations of disturbances in the inner regions of a corona above the accretion disk. Observations indicate that the oscillations occur predominantly at the keplerian angular frequency of disk matter about the central object and have low coherence. This model would explain the observed variations in the centroid frequencies of QPOs in GX5-1, Sco X-1, and Cyg X-1. The variation of QPOs frequencies relative to the photon spectra of these sources is predicted.
