Blazars, Multi-Wavelength Observations, Jets
Scientific paper
It is widely recognized that the strong and variable non-thermal emission observed in blazars is due to a relativistic jet oriented at a small angle to the line of sight. In this paper, we briefly review the results from recent multi-frequency observations of blazars mainly organized with ASCA, and the advances in our outstanding of the particle acceleration in jets. We also discuss the "power balance" between the sub-pc scale jet, and 10 kpc scale jet recently discovered with Chandra.
