A program of testing aimed at the evaluation of systems that have the potential to provide the level of performance required for use in space-based instruments was undertaken and their usefulness appraised for astronomy. The results of the first phase of the program to characterize selected pixels of a HgCdTe photovoltaic array detector were reported.
