Only an explosion of a planet some 3×109 years ago can produce the simultaneous formation of asteroids, comets and crater-forming missiles. A planet Asteron between Mars and Jupiter must have been rather gaseous and of structure intermediate between the terrestrial and giant planets. Its extra mass dispersed into the solar system. The explosion might happen in the wrong course of evolution as it happens in stars and space rockets.
