Scientific paper

The paper examines the feasibility of determining the growth coefficient of a spiral astrophysical structure (e.g., a galaxy) by means of the space-spectrum method using the angular spectrum (AS) of the image of this structure. Relationships are presented defining the AS for different spiral-structure models. Experimental results are presented for the Andromeda Nebula M31. The AS of the spiral structure was determined using coherent-optic and digital-simulation techniques.
