Astronomical observations of the International Time Service for 1968 -
1978 were studied in order to search for periodicities in the diurnal
rotation of the earth. The spectral analysis of the mean system as well
as of the more numerous observations of individual observatories shows
that the earth's diurnal rotation is not uniform.
