Data sets which are relevant to the question of whether or not stellar flares conform to scaling laws are examined. Observations of flares in the optical, far UV, microwave, IR, soft X-ray, and Balmer emissions are discussed. The spectral regions are divided into the impulsive and thermal phases, according to the phase in which they are commonly believed to arise. The correlations between various regions are described. It is found that for the flares discussed, no single scalable spectrum can be constructed.
