A direct three-dimensional determination of the local two-point galaxy correlation function in the interval H(0)r = 200-8000 km/s using the data of the Revised Shapley-Ames catalog is presented. The sample space spans a volume centered on the Galaxy and has a radius of 4000 km/s. In the interval 0-200 km/s, a cylindrical projection onto two dimensions is used to extract the three-dimensional function. The result of these analyses yields a correlation function which is in good agreement with global determinations, thus implying that this volume of space is a fair sample of the universe at large.
