An unsuccessful search for 1637 MHz maser emission from O18H molecules in the H II/OH maser source G351.8 - 0.5 is reported. The detection limit of 25 mJy for 1637 MHz emission sets a lower limit of about 20,000:1 for the ratio of O16H/O18H emission. This limit implies that the column density of O16H molecules in G351.8 - 0.5 is less than 10 to the 18th cm. Comparison with models of OH masers in compressed shells around young H II regions suggests that the H II region associated with G351.8 - 0.5 has been expanding for at least 1000 years.
