The weakening of solar EUV line emission originating in the chromosphere-corona transition region, as it passes through the cool chromospheric material above the EUV-emitting region, has been noted to occur even at the disk center of the quiet sun. Calculations are here presented for the weakening of 11 ions, in order to examine the wavelength dependence of the weakening. The results obtained indicate that weakening increases with increasing wavelength below 912 A; the linearity of the weakening supports the cloud model of Nishikawa (1983).
