The cosmological applications derived from the electromagnetic theory of gravitation are discussed. The final stage of the gravitational contraction of massive stars and larger mass systems is examined. It is shown that the universe itself must go through this kind of stage in the final moments of compression that culminate in the Big Bang. The problem of the anomalies that occur in the spectrum shift towards the red are analyzed.
