Observations of comets obtained in 1980 are listed in a table and
briefly characterized. The 29 comets observed include seven new
longer-period comets, three new short-period comets, ten recoveries of
returning short-period comets, four annual comets, and five holdovers
from 1979. The need for more astrometric observations is stressed.
