An expression is derived for the force on an orbiting particle due to radiation from a rotating star. The expression is then compared to an expression for the case involving a nonrotating star derived by Guess (1962). One effect of this additional component is to decrease slowly the inclination of orbiting particles. This effect was investigated as a possible mechanism for aligning circumstellar dust into rings. It was determined that the effect is not sufficient to form these rings and, in the solar system, is small compared to planetary perturbations.
