The IUE observations of CH Cyg show that the UV continuum is very weak and completely flat, and that the line spectrum is dominated by numerous and strong emissions. A wide ionization range exists, indicating stratification in the ionization conditions. The width of the emissions increases with ionization, irrespective of the permitted or semiforbidden character of the transmission. A decrease in the density of the line emitting region is indicated by the appearance of the CIII lambda 1906.7 emission. The observations clearly indicate that the outburst started in 1977 is nearly ended.
