Simultaneous X-ray and optical observations of the magnetic white dwarf binary H1405-45 are presented. The orbital modulation at the period of 101 min is clearly observed in soft and hard X-rays with EXOSAT as well as from 0.4 to 2.2 mu. The soft, optical, and infrared light curves show a pronounced minimum at the same phase, while the hard X-rays present a roughly correlated maximum. Fast optical photometry, obtained simultaneously with EXOSAT, reveals the presence of variable (0.3 to 0.7 Hz) fast oscillations. Searches for an X-ray counterpart of these oscillations are inconclusive. The temporal and spectral characteristics of the light modulation in H1405-45 favor a two-poles model similar to AM-Her. The shift of the accretion from one pole to the other could possibly explain the phase jitters observed in both sources.
