Different versions of the inflationary universe scenario (IUS) are
considered, and it is argued that the most natural realization of the
idea of inflation can be achieved in the context of the chaotic
inflation scenario. The possibility of generation of isothermal density
perturbations with a sufficiently large amplitude is discussed.
