We collect a heterogeneous sample of 90 Seyfert 2 galaxies with spectropolarimetric observations. By comparing the multi-wavelength data of Seyfert 2 galaxies with hidden broad emission lines and those without, we find that the majority of Seyfert 2s without hidden broad lines are those sources with less powerful AGN activity, most likely caused by low accretion rates. This implies that the detectability of polarized broad emission lines in Seyfert 2s mainly depends on their central AGN activity in most cases.
