The chemical composition of the atmosphere of the star Procyon is inferred from evolutionary tracks, and an estimate of Procyon's stage of evolution is obtained. The chemical composition of the star is given as X = 0.77, Z = 0.035, and Y = 0.195. A small decrease in the helium content to Y = 0.195 over the lifetime of the stellar core (1.4 x 10 to the 9th yr) was also found.
