Seven flares were recorded in 3 h of photometric monitoring in the U
filter, of the star G 119 - 62. Significant variability in the strength
of hydrogen Balmer lines was also detected on a time scale of one day.
Photometric and spectroscopic criteria indicate that G 119 - 62 has a
spectral type close to dM4.5e.
