We present a new spectral analysis of Spitzer-IRS spectra of ultraluminous infrared galaxies (ULIRGs) aimed at separating the AGN and starburst components. Our method proved to be very efficient in detecting intrinsically faint or heavily obscured active galactic nuclei inside ULIRGs, and in measuring the relative contribution of the AGN/starburst components to the ULIRGs' bolometric luminosity. We show the application of our AGN/starburst decomposition method on both local ULIRGs and high redshift sources like submillimetre and 24 micron- selected galaxies.
