Photo-ionization and dust shell models of ultracompact HII region are presented. The model predictions are directly compared with observed properties (e.g., line intensities, continuum emission from dust) obtained by ISO mid-infrared spectroscopy, and the characteristics of the embedded ionizing star(s) and the dust distribution are reported for the observed HII regions.
