We present the results of ground-based imaging spectroscopy of the [NeII] 12.8 micron forbidden line from the ultracompact (UC) HII regions with 2 arcsec spatial resolution. The overall distribution of the [NeII] emission is generally in good agreement with the radio VLA distribution. The Ne+ abundance distributions and effective temperature of the ionizing stars are also derived using these images, radio maps, and recent stellar atmosphere model. Finally, we have demonstrated that the character of the ionizing star in the UC HII region can be revealed by the spatially resolved mid-IR line images.
