Active galactic nuclei on the scale of kpc; extended radio emission around kpc-scale radio cores; a search for HI and OH absorption in high redshifted quasars; a 1.4 GHz VLBI survey of active galactic nuclei having narrow emission line profiles; active galactic nuclei on the scale of pc; a 5 GHz VLBI survey of active galactic nuclei having broad emission line profiles; optical FeII emission and the broad line region in active galactic nuclei; kinematic screen models for superluminal expansion of radio sources; and radio VLBI observations and optical spectroscopy of active galaxies with compact radio and strong optical FeII emission are discussed.
