The evolution of a neutron star entering a low-mass binary system is studied in the frame of the so called ``standard'' evolutionary model. We consider the evolution under the assumption that the magnetic field is of crustal origin. It is shown that millisecond pulsars can be formed in a natural way from neutron stars with more or less typical parameters in the course of evolution of such systems.
