The possibility that supernova enrichment may have caused or contributed to the abundance variations found within some globular clusters is investigated. By using simplified expressions for the evolution of supernova remnants, it is found that globular cluster protoclouds may have been able to support a limited amount of supernova activity. The heavy element inhomogeneity evident within Alpha Cen may be explained in this way. The bimodal CN distributions found in the more metal-rich clusters such as 47 Tuc, however, require so many enriching stars that the protoclouds which must be invoked to ensure containment of the supernova remnants seem of unreasonable dimensions. It is suggested that interior stellar mixing, or enrichment of a cluster by stellar winds rather than supernova ejecta, are preferable ways of accounting for these bimodalities.
