The authors present high resolution, high signal to noise ratio Reticon spectra of the interstellar Ca II-K and Na I-D lines toward the nearby star α Aql. They demonstrate the existence of at least three absorption components well separated in velocities over 5 pc from the Sun and thus, they point out the complex structure of the local interstellar medium.
