Nonparametric statistical models are presented for spherically symmetric, collisionless, static, many-body, gravitating systems. The models provide the complete mathematical relations connecting the observed kinematics (statistical distributions of velocity components and projected positions for individual system members) to the internal dynamics of the systems (distributions of orbital energies and angular momenta amongst system members, and the radial run of gravitational potential). Models are included for marginal, joint, and conditional distributions of observables likely to be useful in determining the internal dynamics of such systems; proper-motion components are included for application to some globular clusters. The models are suitable for the study of internal dynamics and mass distribution in such astronomical objects as globular clusters, dwarf spheroidal galaxies, halo systems of elliptical galaxies, and rich, symmetric clusters of galaxies.
