It is shown that the apparatus used at Oxford to measure oscillator strengths should be capable of a photometric accuracy of better than 1% when comparing oscillator strengths. Improvements in the apparatus and procedures are described which were made in an attempt to reach this theoretical accuracy. Measures for 60 Fe I transitions from levels a5 D(0-4) are given, including measurements to an accuracy of 0.5% for most of 37 lines previously measured to a relative accuracy of 5%. The results are compared with previous laboratory data.
