We first shortly review the ephemerides of the forthcoming March 29, 2006 solar total eclipse, reminding some definitions for computing the circumstances and providing maps of the eclipse path. The probabilities for a clear sky is also considered. Further we review some of the proposed eclipse imaging experiments which are of interest during the totality, including monochromatic CCD imaging and the complementary aspects with space experiments analysing the solar corona. High spatial resolution images of coronal white-light structures are also of great interest.
