After re-analysis of archival data, the MAGIC Collaboration reports the discovery of very high energy (VHE; E >100 GeV) gamma-ray emission from the BL Lac object 1ES0033+595 (RA: 00:35:52.63, Dec.: 59:50:04.56), of unknown redshift.
The source was observed with the MAGIC stereoscopic system for about 24 hours in August through October 2009 during the commissioning phase of the instrument.
