The causal behavior of null geodesics in the uncharged Kerr metric with a greater than m is considered. It is found that the conjecture that no geodesic in the Kerr metric can violate causality, in the sense that all such geodesics meet a turning point before reaching their causality-violating (CV) region, is untrue for null geodesics. Some null geodesics are shown to enter their CV region and to run sufficiently backwards in time to return to the asymptotic regions at an earlier time than they departed. It is concluded that this circumstance, which strengthens confidence in the cosmic censorship hypothesis, could be avoided if a matter source is conceived so as to disconnect the CV region from the asymptotic part of the field.
