A grid of model atmospheres that include the blanketing effects of a large number of lines, mainly due to elements with Z up to 30, is constructed. Differences in atmospheric structure between models with normal abundances and with abundances appropriate to Ap stars are investigated. It is found that the line-blanketed models seem to give a reasonably good representation of several overall properties of Ap stars and that the differences between the atmospheric structures of normal and Ap stars are relatively large for low effective temperatures. The results also indicate that magnetic-field effects are greatest at small optical depths.
