The problem of the existence of undersize subgiant components in close binaries is considered. Sixteen systems classified as sd-d after Hall's research (1974) on the argument, have been studied by applying his method for the sake of homogeneity. Collecting our results and those of Hall, a total of 37 systems have been examined. The conclusion is that till now, there is no strong evidence to support the existence of post-main-sequence mass-exchange remnants with the subgiant smaller than its Roche lobe (i.e., sd-d systems).
