UV observations intended to study the structure of the compact hot object believed to represent the accreting component of the symbiotic binary AR Pavonis as it emerges from eclipse are presented. Measurements in the spectral region 1200-3200 A were made over a period spanning 11 days of the 20-day egress period by the IUE satellite. Light curves in the far UV show variations not identifiable with an eclipse, while at a wavelength of 3100 A the variation is close to that observed in the B and V. The continuum spectrum can be accounted for by that of a hot object, an M star and a third component at 4000 K, only the last of which undergoes eclipse later than a phase of 0.041. Further studies of the possible eclipse of the hot object and the behavior of the 4000 K body during ingress are indicated.
