Although it appears impossible to draw conclusions concerning the possible origin of recently observed, coherent 10 ms period oscillations in X-ray bursters, it is shown that the nonradial pulsations of a neutron star or the torsional oscillations of a neutron star's crust are attractive possibilities. Firm confirmation of the existence of these oscillations, and more observational material relating to their nature, are needed to establish one among the various models proposed.
