It follows from observations that fractal structure is inherent in interstellar clouds and may exist also for intergalactic gas clouds. The properties of fractal cosmic clouds are discussed. Based on model calculations of the interaction of clouds with hierarchic structure, it is shown that fractality should not significantly affect the results of calculations of the mass spectrum of an ensemble of cosmic clouds performed assuming that the clouds are homogeneous.
