To find a way to reap better benefits within the limited resources in organising and coordinating the space activities, is always the first important aspect which should be kept in mind. The comprehensive utilisation of space and related ground-based data is one of the keys in this endeavour. The aerial remote sensing system, GIS and various ground data base are playing a vital important role in the remote sensing applications in China. Some current and future activities in ground-based experiments in support of utilisation of satellite data are summarised.
