A combination of primary distances from the literature and secondary distances from the luminosity-line width (or Tully-Fisher) relation in spiral galaxies is used to study the motions of galaxies in and around the Local Supercluster. The Tully-Fisher sample presented here represents a factor of ˜2 increase in the number of available tracers in the local universe and contains much new I-band photometry, Hα rotation curves and HI profile widths. A parametric model including infall onto the Virgo Cluster and `Great Attractor' is fit to the velocity field. This model is fit with the aim of providing an empirical correction to distances derived from redshifts in the local universe. We explore the typical errors in distances from such a flow model and how they vary in different regions of the Local Supercluster by fitting the same parametric model to mock catalogues derived from a constrained simulation of the volume.
