High signal-to-noise spectroscopic observations are presented of both a volume-limited sample of nearby elliptical galaxies as well as a separate sample of suspected merger remnant ellipticals. The results of a detailed stellar population analysis are presented, examining the correlations between age, metallicity, [α Fe], and other galaxy properties.
